Civic Lens USA

About Us

Civic Lens USA is a national platform committed to amplifying the civic voices of young women of color.

We believe that civic spaces rarely reflect the experiences, insights, or leadership of young women of color. As a result, their perspectives are undervalued, their voices are overlooked, and their political power remains untapped.

We’re here to change that.

Civic Lens USA creates media, programs, and conversations that ask:

“Why should I care about civics?”
And we let young women of color answer that question for themselves.

Our Programs

Okay And? - The Podcast

Okay, And? is the podcast where we cut straight to the point: Why should you care about this now?

Designed to meet young people where they are, Okay, And? isn't another news recap or civics lesson. It's where we host provocative conversations with activists, organizers, young thinkers, policymakers, educators, and leaders who are actively shaping civic life. We dig into what civic engagement actually looks like in practice — the messiness, the strategy, the real impact.

Every episode asks the question that matters: What's at stake for us? How do we show up? What comes next?

Our Lens — The Blog

Our Lens is a digital publication where young women of color break down current events, civic issues, and culture — through our perspective, for our communities.

Every policy shift, every election cycle, every cultural moment tells a story. But whose story gets told? Through Our Lens, we're reclaiming the narrative. We examine what's happening in the world and ask the questions that matter to us: How does this impact our communities? What are we going to do about it? What are we refusing to accept?

This is how we see it. This is what matters when you look through Our Lens.
